5 Trainers & Nutritionists Put Healthy Food Delivery To The Test

There are so many ways to refuel your body in between workouts from green smoothies, to protein bars, to cold pressed juice, but nothing beats a good dinner made with whole foods. Trying to find the right diy meal kit for you with tons of options to choose from can feel almost impossible, which is why we asked five of our favorite fitness and nutrition bloggers to try Terra's Kitchen and tell us how it performed for them. Keep reading to find out how our healthy food delivery complemented their active lifestyles.

1.) Nicole from Pumps & Iron loves switching up her workouts and believes in eating everything in moderation. She is a group fitness instructor, and personal trainer in Boston, Massachusetts. Since she tries to limit dairy, meat, and gluten in her diet she loves using healthy meal delivery services like Terra’s Kitchen from time to time for convenience, variety, and to learn some new tricks!

When she ordered TK she chose the Roasted Brown Sugar Salmon with Orange Jicama Salad, Sweet Potato Tacos, Blackened Tilapia Tacos with Mango Blueberry Salsa, and Terra Buddha Bowl. And just like that, 4 weekday meals were taken care of in 30 minutes or less, leaving plenty of time for an extra workout or two.

2.) Meaghan aka The Fit Crasher is kind of like a party crasher, but with way more spandex. She goes undercover to try every type of boutique studio, trend workout and fitness class imaginable. She has lived in both Washington DC and New York City, so you better believe she has access to the newest and best options in the wellness world.

Since moving to NYC, she admits that she hasn’t found her rhythm in her tiny apartment kitchen which is where TK stepped in! Before trying Terra’s Kitchen, Meaghan had looked into healthy meal delivery services before but never actually ordered because she doesn’t eat most meat, and definitely didn’t want to spend lots of time prepping and chopping and figuring out what the heck she was supposed to do to make the complicated recipes a reality. When cooking for herself during the week, she values minimal ingredients and minimal effort with maximum nutrition. Amen sister! After trying 3 meals, she told us the Turkey Spinach Meatballs in Skinny Sunday Gravy were her favorite, with the Sweet Potato Tacos a close second She even used the tacos as a part of her meal prep for the next day!

3.) Deanna, The Live Fit Girls trainer grew up immersed in the fitness industry. Her family owns a fitness club, so she definitely knows her way around the gym. A self admitted donut addict, Deanna knows the power of consistently exercising and eating well, but like all of us, even pros can get stuck in a rut sometimes!

Since she is constantly doing recipe creation for her clients and her blog, Deanna was excited to give herself a break with Terra’s Kitchen. Her husband Nik certainly didn’t mind a bit of variety either! She tried four different meals in her first order: the Terra Buddha Bowl, Grilled Lamb with Pan-Roasted Asparagus, Olives, & Tomatoes, Roasted Brown Sugar Salmon with Orange Jicama Salad, and Avocado Lime Corn Soup. Aside from the fact that she loved the meals, Deanna also told us her favorite part: the fact that we use real food like sustainable seafood and antibiotic and hormone-free meats. Why wouldn’t we?

4.) Lauren Kelly Nutrition is a the staff Nutritionist at two different locations of The Bar Method in New Jersey so we knew she would be a great person to try some of our newer meals. She is a mom of 3 boys, a runner, and a picky eater. Lauren loves cooking, even in her small kitchen, and drinking wine! (Who doesn’t?)

As a nutritionist, Lauren was a little skeptical prior to trying a healthy meal box from Terra’s Kitchen. How would the food stay cold? Would she like the meals? Was it really healthy? When her first vessel arrived, she couldn’t stop raving about every step of the process. Her favorite meal was our Spicy Honey Lime Chicken & Edamame Rice. When she saw all of our fresh ingredients pre-prepped and organized, ready to cook, all she could say was, “Yup, I can used to this.”

5.) Gina from Running To The Kitchen is a former college athlete who got back on track in her late 20’s by taking up running. Now, she is a CrossFit junkie who runs occasionally. When it comes to her diet, she loves a rare steak and a dark, chewy glass of red wine, but to stay on track she focuses on eating whole foods, which is why we thought she might like to give Terra’s Kitchen a try.

Gina told us that the real reason she agreed to try TK was because she loved our philosophy, “At Terra’s Kitchen, we don’t just care about the quality of our food to nourish our bodies, but also how it affects our communities and environment.” In her first experience with TK, she tried our Buffalo Chicken Tacos, Grilled Skirt Steak with Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad, and Grilled Lamb With Pan Roasted Asparagus and Tomatoes. In the end she ended up dubbing our Grilled Skirt Steak is the perfect summer meal, it doesn’t get better than that! You can even add just the protein and cook with your own recipe if you prefer.
