Every meal needs a good beer to complete it, right? Our partner, @GrapeFriend, has beer pairings for all of our meals. Here are our favorite beer pairings for dinner this spring. You can even use these pairings for celebrating St. Patrick's Day over a healthy homemade meal.
1. Spicy Chili-Garlic Cod with Cauliflower Puree is a Paleo-friendly dish of fresh cod with a spicy sriracha-scallion paste over creamy cauliflower, topped with parsley and a drizzle of olive oil.
Pair it with: Yep, a Tropical IPA for the win. The fruity notes of this trendy, new beer style will pair well with spicy dish.
2. Butternut Squash Soup with mini apple grilled cheese sandwiches is topped with toasted walnuts. It’s a hearty vegetarian dish.
Pair it with: The slightly sweet and intense hop flavor of an Imperial IPA is perfect to cut the richness of the butternut squash. Making a dish with rich creams or vegetables? Consider this beer.
3. Mexican Chicken Chili in a lime-infused spicy broth is low calorie and made with organic cannellini beans and tender shredded chicken.
Pair it with: The malty flavor of a light to medium bodied American Dark Wheat Ale will work great with the spice in this dish or any dish with a little heat.
4. Asian Beef and Broccoli is a combination of broccoli florets, scallions, jasmine rice and steak drizzled with soy-garlic sauce.
Pair it with: The fruity hop characteristics of a West Coast IPA will cut the richness of the beef and still hold up to the bold flavors of the dish.
