If you want to eat healthier and save time, chances are you’re considering meal delivery services as a possible solution. With so many choices available, finding the right service can seem like a daunting task. There are a lot of rumors about meal kits, so we’re here to dispel them and tell you the truth about meal delivery with Terra’s Kitchen.

Myth #1: Meal kits are too expensive

There is a huge misconception that meal kits are more expensive than eating out which isn’t necessarily true. Of course, they’re a little more expensive than fast food, but you get what you pay for! It turns out, the average check at chain restaurants like Bonefish Grill or Outback Steakhouse is over $20 per person. That’s a lot of dough, and if you eat out twice a week, you probably spend over $2000 a year eating out. Compare that to meals from Terra’s Kitchen that start at $9.99 per serving and only go as high as $17.99. Plus, when you order meal delivery you’re also saving the money you would be paying for parking, a tip for your server, and extra appetizers and drinks you wouldn’t usually add-on during a home-cooked meal.

Myth #2: The recipes take too long

Cooking meals from scratch can take a long time especially if your knife skills aren’t top notch. Most meal delivery services claim they save time by eliminating the need to go to the grocery store. Unfortunately, cooking meals from these services often takes 45-60 minutes per recipe due to intense amounts of prep work. Terra’s Kitchen consistently delivers realistic cook times that are never longer than 30 minutes per recipe, but many take even less. We accomplish this by sending ingredients that are already washed, measured, peeled, and chopped so you can start cooking right away. Since the most tedious parts of the prep work are already done, all you have to do is take the meal across the finish line and of course you can still take all of the credit.

Myth #3: The food really isn’t that healthy

Starting with fresh ingredients doesn’t always mean you are eating a balanced meal. Too many calories, too much saturated fat or added sugar can quickly make any meal an unhealthy choice. So, TK’s own Dr. Lisa Davis, designed and uses the Terra’s Kitchen Nutrition Score to evaluate every meal on our menu. This helps to ensure every recipe meets our standards of being delicious, and a good source of nutrients, anti-inflammatory ingredients, fiber, and healthy fats. Our menu is full of recipes you can feel good about that serve preferences ranging from Paleo, to gluten-free, to vegan.

Myth #4 - The menus are very limited

Some services pick recipes for you solely based on your preferences, which means you’re at their mercy each week. Others only offer a limited menu, so hopefully you like your options! Terra’s Kitchen operates differently. We offer 50+ meals at all times, and you get to pick every meal in your weekly delivery. If you find a meal that you really love, you can order it again and again too!

Myth #5 - The plans aren’t flexible

Meal services are supposed to make cooking easier, despite everything else you have going on in your life. It can be a pain making sure you’re home when the food gets delivered, or maybe you don’t need three meals per week every week. At Terra’s Kitchen we give you the power to design a plan that fits your life, and that means full customization, not rigid plans. You get to choose from meals, salads, snacks, sides, beverages and more to create your perfect order. Every delivery arrives on your doorstep in a climate-controlled vessel that keeps your food fresh all day, so there’s no need to rush home.
