Homemade Peanut Butter Recipe - Makes 16 ounces
What you need:
1 pound of roasted peanuts
1 teaspoon kosher or flake salt
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons peanut oil
What to do:
In the bowl of a food processor, fitted with the blade attachment, add the peanuts, salt and honey. Process for one minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Place the lid back on and slowly drizzle in the oil. Keep processing until the mixture is smooth. Since this is homemade peanut butter it must be kept in the refrigerator inside of an airtight container.
- This can also made be into a healthier spread, sub out the roasted peanuts for raw and lose the honey
- Maple syrup or agave can be used in place of honey
- Roast your own peanuts! Spread raw peanuts on a sheet tray and roast in the oven with honey, salt and oil.
